At the March 10 Board of Education meeting, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Sharon A. Dungee announced the two Scripps Spelling Bee finalists, who were recognized with certificates of achievement by Board of Education President Luis Alcantara, Vice President Debra Cavanagh, and Board members Mrs. Michele Harriott, Mr. Glenn C. Mitchell, Mr. Jim Musumeci, Mr. Ralph Delgado Jr., and Mrs. Maureen Esposito.

Alumni Shoutout! Newsday Recognizes Harriott Siblings

Newsday highlighted an elite group of Long Island High School graduates who were recipients of the publication's prestigious Marcus A. Henry Award in the July 7th edition. Central Islip High School Class of 2016 Alumnus, Livingstone Harriott, Jr., and Central Islip High School Class of 2018 Alumna, Alexandrea Harriott, were recipients of the Marcus A. Henry Award in their respective senior classes, where they were recognized for their community service efforts. 

Both Livingstone (LJ), and Alexandrea (Allie), are Ivy League graduates. An alumnus of Brown University, LJ has just completed his second year of law school, and is returning as an Associate to the New York City-based law firm of Haynes and Boone. 

Allie graduated Harvard University in 2022 with a degree in Applied Mathematics and Global Health. She is manager of policy and economic analyst for Charm Economics. 

Congratulations to LJ and Allie Harriott on their outstanding accomplishments and successes, and for making CI proud!
