Mulligan Students Help Design Gymnasium Improvements
Students in Mulligan Elementary School certainly have a voice as they attend the first in a series of Superintendent of Schools Dr. Sharon A. Dungee's Superintendent/Student Council Roundtables.
Dr. Dungee created the districtwide Roundtable concept in an effort to encourage students to have a voice to offer their views on changes or enhancements they would like to see brought to their schools.
Students at Mulligan Elementary School's Roundtable on October 29 were treated to a visit by Director of Facilities, Mr. Matthew Providente, who brought a palette of colors for students to decide on for their gymnasium wall mat paddings.
Students favored yellow, white and purple as the hues for their gym. Dr. Dungee shared with the students: "You are ambassadors for your school where you represent everyone here in Mulligan Elementary. So, your charge is to speak with your friends and your parents over the next few months, think outside the box, and be respectful of others as you look to make positive changes. You spend a lot of time in school, so it's important that you are proud of your school and that you feel comfortable here."
