Civic Council Honors Leticia Kim, Other Notable Community Members
Central Islip Civic Council celebrated 60 years of incorporation when they hosted their annual gala on Wednesday, March 25 at the Watermill Inn in Smithtown.
This year's honorees included Central Islip High School Class of 2026 Valedictorian Leticia Kim, Suffolk County Sheriff Dr. Errol Toulon, Jr., Doris Dodson (posthumusly recognized), and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Theta lota Omega Chapter.
CI Civic Council Executive Director Carla Simpson and the Board of Directors welcomed guests and introduced honorees.
Special guest, Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine issued proclamations to honorees, and was joined by Central Islip School District officials: Superintendent of Schools Dr. Sharon A. Dungee, School Board Members Michele Harriott and Debra Cavanagh, and Central Islip High School Principal Eric Haruthunian.
